SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Builds and maintains electrical and naturalgas distribution and transmission lines.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· All NorthWestern Energy employees arerequired to adhere to company safety standards.
· Ensureall actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, andstrategic business objectives
· Responsible for the dailysafe operation, maintenance, and construction of electric and natural gas distributionand transmission facilities
· Work will be performedindividually, or as part of a crew
· Will primarily be responsiblefor work in the Red Lodge area, but may be sent to other locations within BillingsDivision or the NWE service territory depending on the needs of the Company
· Must be a trained FirstResponder, or must be willing to be trained in that capacity
· Required to respond tocall-outs after hours and live within a 15-minute response time to the RedLodge shop and will be expected to follow DOT, OSHA and NWE safety rules
· Will be required to liftfrom 10 to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally lift 50 to 70 pounds
· Majority of shift isworked outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions with exposure toelectrical and natural gas service hazards
· 20% of work time is spenttraveling
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be able to demonstrate a goodsafety record
· Mustpossess strong interpersonal communication skills
· Must be a certified CombinationJourneyman level in both electric and natural gas
· Must be experienced inelectric and natural gas construction and service work
· Will be required tooperate line trucks, backhoes, trenchers, power-operated equipment,test/monitoring instruments and other equipment
· Must possess a workingknowledge of applicable codes, including OSHA, DOT and be able to becomeknowledgeable and follow NWE's safety rules
· Must be able to read maps,prints, specs and blueprints
· Good customer serviceskills
· Valid Montana CDL required
· Must have a history ofgood overtime call-out availabilityand adherence tosafe working practices andprocedures
